Product Shot 1 The Pros:Manual is well written and explains all of the functions. Good range of qualities available, maximizes disc space depending on what you're recording. Formats DVDs for recording quickly, only takes a few seconds.

The Cons:Some loss of signal is inevitable when recording HD content to a DVD. Functions are a bit confusing at first, need to read the manual.

The Toshiba D-VR660 is a DVD recorder / VCR combo offered by Toshiba that features 1080p upconversion, and unlike the lower model D-VR610, also features a built-in digital tuner. This device can easily convert VHS tapes to DVD, and visa-versa, in one small convenient box.

DVD content can be up-converted to near HD picture quality through the HDMI output.  It supports a wide array of disc types, including DVD-Video, CD-DA, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD+R, VCD and SVCD and is DivX home theatre certified. It is capable of playing MP3 and WMA files, and is able to record 2 channel Dolby Digital audio. The built in 4-head hi-fi VCR can record at SP and SLP. The built-in ATSC/NTSC/QAM digital/analog tuner is capable of receiving analog and digital channels over the air or cable. Other notable features include V-Chip recording, timer recording, various editing features and several options for inputs and outputs.
