Sony RDR-VXD655

$200.00 Released July, 2007

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Upscaling works well - even on old VHS tapes. 8 different DVD recording qualities - can fit up to 8 hours of content on a single disc. Built-in digital converter - useful for those with analog television sets.

The Cons:Lacks 1080p support - 720p or 1080i only. Poorly designed remote control - buttons require extra pressure to activate. Channel auto scan takes a long time when used with digital channels.

The Sony RDR-VX655 is a high-end DVD recorder and VHS combo designed for average consumers looking to record content onto DVD discs without all kinds of advanced features. The VX655 features two unique one touch dubbing and one touch recording features which allows users to copy content directly to a DVD or to a VHS tape quickly and conveniently.

The RDR-VX655 also includes an integrated standard definition digital television tuner which allows users the option to record standard programs without the use of a cable box.

The Sony RDR-VX655 also includes additional features such as universal media disc playback support for use with virtually all types of recordable media, Sony compatible Bravia Sync technology for easy connection with other Sony products such as a Sony HDTV, an integrated HDTV tuner, several different recording modes, unique video noise reduction support for a sharper picture, and a 16-bit/96KHz digital to analog audio converter. It is worthy of noting that the RDR-VX655 more importantly includes integrated HDMI ports, and also features full HD up-scaling support through the HDMI inputs.
