The Pros:Installation is quick and easy, just plug it in and format it. Runs nearly silently while in operation. Draws very little power while in operation.

The Cons:Need to transfer recorded programs onto it manually, not automatic. Doesn't come pre-formatted, needs to be set up when you get it. Priced a little higher than comparable external 1Tb HDDs.

The Seagate Showcase is a storage capacity expander for digital video recorders, and is compatible with a wide variety of makes and models including DISH Network. Setup is easy, as it just plugs in and your existing DVR configures it when turned on.
