ReplayTV RTV5040

The RTV5040 is a basic digital video recorder from ReplayTV, a follow-up to the 4040, to which it is very similar in features. The hard drive holds 40 hours of standard-definition programming, which can be replayed in slow-motion, fast-forwarded, and watched without ads thanks to the ability to skip past commercials.

Like most modern DVRs, the 5040 can pause live TV. The 5040's networking ability surpasses that of the 4040, as the user can share content not only with other ReplayTV units on a home network, but with friends and family over the internet, as long as they also own a 5000-series DVR. High definition support is not provided, but models with higher storage capacities are available.
