Product Shot 1The JVC HM-HDS1U is a mid-range television recorder that combines hard drive MPEG-2 recording and high-resolution VCR. It can record and play at the same time or record up to 32 pre-programmed events (over one year) to the hard drive or VHS.

It has a 181 channel tuner and numerous VHS features, including VHS stereo and MTS decoder. At lowest quality (VHS), the hard drive can store about 40 hours, and around 14 hours at higehst quality. It has 4MB of frame memory, and can create VHS tapes of clips based on indexed pictures from the hard drive. The intended use of the HM-HDS1U is to store video on the hard drive in the short-term, and if desired to record to VHS for later viewing.
